THE GEMSTONE
Calming and cleansing, the clear, light tone of the blue-green Aquamarine gemstone symbolises truth and freedom.
In folklore, Aquamarine was regarded as the treasure of mermaids, taken by sailors embarking on long voyages as a talisman of luck and protection.
Formed during the crystallisation of pegmatite volcanic rock, these large, clear crystals are found mainly in Brazil but also in Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique and Russia.
