THE GEMSTONE

Calming, and cleansing, the clear, light tone of the blue-green Aquamarine gemstone symbolises truth and freedom.

In folklore, Aquamarine was regarded as the treasure of mermaids, taken by sailors embarking on long voyages as a talisman of luck and protection.

Formed during the crystallisation of pegmatite volcanic rock, these large, clear crystals are found mainly in Brazil but also in Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique and Russia.

Aquamarine is the March Birthstone.
